internship requirement for a Class CC Private Investigator,
who wishes to obtain a Class C license. The classes
are also part of a degree track. All courses are three
credit undergraduate college level courses, accredited

Carol Sciannameo was
hired by the New York City Transit
Police Department in 1980. By the beginning of 1982,
as a rookie, was assigned as one of the first female
full time anti-crime officers in District One, which
was located at 59th Street Columbus Circle. She went
on to a citywide Anti-Crime Unit and was one of the
first 12 officers assigned to the elite Transit Police
Decoy Unit, under the direct supervision of Jack E.
Maple. Jack Maple is the creator of the network television
show, "The District." Carol was promoted to
Detective, and almost immediately thereafter to Sergeant.
Most of her career until attending the FBI National
Academy was apprehending, investigating and prosecuting
violent predicate felons on the subways of New York.
After the FBI Academy, Carol went on to pursue a bachelor's
degree and then onto a Master's Degree. While going
to school at night, she could not work the rigorous
anti-crime schedule and had to perform administrative/investigative
functions.
Some of her assignments
included Commanding Officer/Equal Employment Opportunity,
Commanding Officer/Career Path Unit, Sergeant in the
Strategic Planning and Policy Division as well as assignments
to Field Investigations Units. As a Lieutenant, Carol
was the Special Operations Lieutenant in District 4,
which covered most of the East Side of Manhattan. After
obtaining her Police Instructor certification went on
to be the DARE Lieutenant in the Office of the Deputy
Commissioner of Community Affairs of the NYPD. The two
departments (NYPD and Transit had merged by that time,
and transfers from Bureau to Bureau were available).
Carol then went on to follow the designs of her degree
track and became Personnel Officer in two large Divisions
of the Police Department.
Carol Sciannameo's investigative
career is extensive and her background in all aspects
of policing is diverse.
Carol Sciannameo and
Jack Maple worked together for numerous years, and she
considers him her mentor. He went on to create Compstat,
write screenplays and books. She is very proud to be
mentioned in his book, Crimefighter: How to Make
Your Community Crime Free. The following link leads
